About/ Press Kit

Hailing from Breaux Bridge, Louisiana…

Mitch Reed is a songwriter, producer, engineer, and recording artist. His unconventional approach to Hip-Hop production brings a refreshing vibe. With hard-hitting drums and basslines with soulful melodies, sampling, and lyrics, Reed redefines what Southern Hip-Hop can be.

Mitch has been producing since the age of thirteen and started his career as a beatmaker and engineer, producing and mixing for other artists around the Acadiana area. His first self-produced solo work, “ANSWER,” was released in May 2025 and features hard-hitting and soulful songs that encapsulate the “answer” he was looking for all his life. The innate desire to create, which is something Reed preaches to his peers and in his music.

In February 2026, Mitch released his second self-produced work, titled “POSITIONS,” which is a complete turnaround from his first release. Talking about subjects like mental health and relationships, Reed shows his vulnerable side over lush and emotional instrumentals.

Mitch takes inspiration from artists such as Frank Ocean, JPEGMAFIA, Animal Collective, Kendrick Lamar, Prince, Juvenile, and many others. Making together a melting pot of sound in his music with influences from many genres. Mitch Reed is definitely an artist to keep your eyes on.

making this album nearly killed me

before my pawpaw died he told me to always tell the truth and to be yourself to the fullest extent. sometimes i didn’t honor those things, and i lost myself in the process.

so i challenged myself on this record to be as honest as i could on this record about everything. you can perceive someone you don’t know one way or another, especially in music and social media, because we see others how they want us to see them. and vice versa. and in a lot of cases success hides a multitude of sins. but my mission with this album is to be honest about my vices and struggles and show that everyone that you see is a human being dealing with things too. we are all trying to grow in one way or another.

this album is about the year i had in 2025, which was the best and worst year of my life. it tells my experience from the beginning of the year until the end. it’s a concept album about growth and the action of feeling the hardest emotions and willingly going through them to come out stronger.

i started on this in november and finished it in january. i had another idea for an album that was almost finished but i scrapped it and made this instead. i only kept two of them from that lol. i think this is my best and most complete work so far and im so happy it’s out now after a long and hard process.

i made this for all the loved ones we lose, alive and dead. i made this to show how much of a blessing it is to feel deeply. i made this for everyone who feels guilty of who they are (like myself at times) and to show that imperfection is human.

if you or someone you know is struggling with mental health, please go seek help. it’s never too late. the most mature thing you can do as a human and especially as a

man is to be the best and most honest possible version of yourself.

positions is out now. thank you! lyrics should be up sometime next week as well. comment or dm me if you resonate with it.

This album is a representation of my everyday life and emotions. I started rapping again after a hiatus in a therapeutic way to help deal with these emotions. i wasn't gonna put some of these out because of the personal weight it had on me but i felt like that would be the best thing to do because it might help someone else dealing with the same shit. I Hope whoever's listening enjoys and finds their answer too.
